Wishes and Weeds

When I was a little girl, living in Montana, I was infatuated with dandelions and their brite yellow faces that were sprayed out across our big back yard. Late in the summer, I was delighted to pick these transformative flowers in their green and gray feathered state. I would carefully pull one from the lawn, and with all the breath my lungs could hold, my wishes were set free on the wind; their tiny seeds floating out in every direction. It was magical for me and I never seemed to tire of setting these seedlings sailing in the summer sun. It wasn't until I was a young teen and an adult chastised me for blowing weeds across their lawn that I learned to see my beautiful dream makers as nothing more than pesky weeds. Like my dandelions, many women carry their wishes around in their hearts and never free them on the winds of possibility. Adulthood can rob you of the magic of believing in wishes.  Sometimes, your greatest wish can fester and remain unrealized. It can begin to feel like a weed in your soul. It's intrusive and bothersome. You may long for better health and you may think the solution lies outside of yourself somewhere. It's as thought the whole rest of the world has read that one magical diet book and that is why they are all happier and healthier than you are. If you could just discover the formula for good health you would be so much better, more fulfilled, or happier. We look at the hundreds of diets and we wander the isles of the grocery store reading labels and advertisements searching for something better than what we are doing now. There has to be something out there better than a crummy old dandelion. 

What if you could understand that within that dandelion are all the seeds of your success? Everything you need to be happy and healthy is right there in your hand. The answer doesn't lie somewhere outside of you, it lies WITHIN you. You already have all the power to be the whole person you long to be. The answers are in your hands. That can be both scary and empowering. You can find absolute beauty and harmony in being exactly who you are. Take all of those tiny wishes inside you and set them free on the wind. Feel your beauty spread across the earth in the summer sun. Watch it grow and multiply and cover the world with the warmth of your radiant face. The answer is you. It is in you. It is because of you. All that you need is within you. You just need to believe it. Wish on, my friend.
